Buying land for developments can be challenging. Brownfield sites are often preferred because planning is much easier to obtain, however they often come with numerous legacy issues.

In our case study, we examine a site which has legal issues common to many development sites: Mines and Minerals, Restrictive Covenants, Access and Lack of Title Guarantee. The site’s historical use as light industrial has also left it with a pollution issue. The case study considers the impact of each issue and how potential solutions can be sought via insurance.
